I love the holiday season! Christmas is such a great time of year. Jingle bells and deck the halls and all that!
Every year we unpack our Christmas books and spread them out under our Christmas tree. It’s one of my favorite traditions.
I’ve added a Christmas Picture Books board to my pinterest. Anything I should add? I would also love some chapter Christmas books recommendations (anything–kid or adult or teen…is there such a thing as teen Christmas books? I kind of doubt it…).
What are you reading and watching at this time of year?
I love Christmas books and movies. All of your choices are very good. Of course, I love the Christmas Carol (for adults) but also The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey.
Hmm, it’s not letting me look at the link. That’s odd… Might be me, though, slow connection.
The Christmas Carol is wonderful for a traditional story–book or movies. Less traditional, I just read and watched Terry Pratchett’s Hogfather. Very funny–for adults, not kids.
Another good one is The Mischief in the Mistletoe, one of the Pink Carnation series. It’s a fun romance and mystery in Victorian England (with Austen as a minor character). It’s midway into the series but can be read independently. The other books in the series are very much for adults, although that one is YA-friendly.
There must be YA Christmas books…and I can’t think of any…that’s odd, too!
If you like L.M. Montgomery, there’s a collection of her Christmas-themed short stories. Some are a bit, er, super sweet, but there are good ones too.
Thanks for the ideas!
I think I have the link fixed, so hopefully it works for you.
Not teen, but a little younger: The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. Book lists on Pinterest is a lovely idea.
I haven’t read that one since I was a kid. I need to check it out!
I see you have Max’s Christmas, but we love even more Morris’ Disappearing Bag (also by Wells).
