Recently my kids and I read the adorable Chopsticks written by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and illustrated by Scott Magoon.
I love chopsticks. It’s just one of those things with a coolness factor–why use a fork when you could use chopsticks?! A little while ago my daughter came home from preschool with a pair of modified “training” chopsticks, made using a regular pair of chopsticks, some tissue, and a rubber band. They eventually wore out, but I did my best to duplicate them (see below).
Apparently instead of using a tissue you can whip these babies up using the paper wrapper of disposable chopsticks when you’re at a restaurant (providing you keep a supply of rubber bands in your purse!). Or you can buy official training chopsticks, but then I would actually have to go to a store, and given how I feel about running errands, this may not make it on to my to-do list until my kids are all grown up.
